Why hike when you can just fly to the summit?January 7, 2019 5:41 pm
A few times a year, the wind blows the right direction allowing paraglider pilots to soar this popular hiking peak near San Luis Obispo. The challenge is to use the launch, at about 350 ft., and climb from there to the summit at 1500 ft. Today was my first time reaching the peak and then some (1800ft.) I felt like a first time pilot all over again. Sure beats hiking to the top!
